Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Development:
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and develop commercial elevator and escalator systems.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in the design process.
    • Utilize CAD software to create detailed design drawings and specifications.
  2. Testing and Prototyping:
    • Analyze test results and make necessary adjustments to improve system functionality.
    • Work closely with the testing team to address any issues and refine designs accordingly.
  3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide technical support for the maintenance team, offering expertise in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues.
    • Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop preventative maintenance plans to extend the lifespan of elevator and escalator systems.
  4. Project Management:
    • Coordinate with project managers to ensure that engineering projects are completed within the specified timeline and budget.
    • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to address technical concerns and provide project updates.
  5. Compliance and Safety:
    • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations related to elevator and escalator systems.
    • Ensure that all designs and installations comply with safety standards and local building codes.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in elevator and escalator technology.
    • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in the vertical transportation industry.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software for design and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in the design, testing, and maintenance of elevator and escalator systems is preferred.
  • Internships of relevant experience with commercial applications in manufacturing, product development, product experience, assembly lines, etc.
  • Familiarity with the integration of modern technologies, such as IoT and smart systems, into vertical transportation.
A mechanical engineer in this role plays a crucial part in the entire lifecycle of elevator and escalator systems, from initial design to ongoing maintenance and improvement.
