Service Sales Representative

West Palm/Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Job Summary:

In your role as a Service Sales Representative, you will work in a business-to-business setting in which you will cover an assigned territory and build a portfolio of accounts via referrals, prospecting and attending networking events.  Additionally, you will be tasked with mentoring and leading a Junior Sales Representative.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Generally, represent the company with clients, architects, consultants, property managers, building owners, GC’s, and other targeted client groups.
  • Develop target lists and penetrate accounts selling various service packages (i.e., leak repairs, preventative maintenance, flashing upgrades, fit outs, coatings, small replacements, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain commercial client relationships with a focus on customer service as a key priority for business referrals and repeat business.
  • Help to develop new commercial territorial accounts through cold calling, prospecting, networking, telemarketing lead follow up, target marketings and business development meetings.
  • Develop relationships with owners, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in customer acquisition and customer target strategy.  
  • Coordinate replacements with production sales.
  • Measure buildings, verify dimensions, perform test cuts when necessary.
  • Complete take off and estimate.
  • Create detailed proposals, follow-up with customers, close sales.
  • Maintain bid calendar and report updates to team.
  • Review Notice to Proceed letters (NTP), Contracts for scope and price accuracy.
  • Meet with Service Manager to perform project handoff after bid award.
  • Participate in job completion financial analysis and track performance metrics.
  • Plan, oversee and participate in Marketing outreach.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Commercial Roofing knowledge and experience project managing and/or estimating single-ply, asphalt, cold-applied, hot-applied, and metal projects desired but not necessary for the right candidate.
  • Demonstrated track record in the management of other sales associates.
  • 5 + years previous construction or industrial sales experience required.
  • Experience in growing market share.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a tenacious drive to sell and the ability to problem-solve.
  • Strong organizational skills and sales tracking abilities.
  • Excellent Time Management and follow-up skills.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, and computer competency.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Degree in Business or Construction management preferred but not necessary.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
