US Director of Business Development (remote)

As the world is focused on climate action, decarbonization and net zero, we are strategically positioned to drive the impact energy efficiency has in addressing the global crisis. We are seeking a leader who has demonstrated success in evaluating and developing business in the field of energy efficiency to serve as a trusted member of our team who will play an integral role as we sprint toward our vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Manage existing sales pipeline and develop new business opportunities with a focus on government, commercial and industrial markets.
  • Monitor and manage requests for proposals (RFP) or quotations for US based funding opportunities related to the company’s core operations, including producing bid documents, delivering professional technical & financial proposals within defined timelines.
  • Seek out, apply for, and manage relevant grant opportunities.
  • Partner with local, state, and federal offices and agencies to develop and support workforce and other initiatives aligning our services to meet their goals.

Other Responsibilities
  • Responsible for management of the administration, coordination & execution of projects awarded.
  • Recognize/understand/analyze/stay at the forefront of trends, customer requirements and market needs, regulations to achieve sales and revenue targets
  • Develop proposals and presentations for new business to create and nurture opportunities and partnerships.
  • Develop, manage, and strengthen relationships and agreements with key stakeholders and partners to grow business.
  • Travel as needed
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed to align and define operations.
  • Promote and attend relevant events, schedule, and attend relevant meetings and provide event support

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in sales and business development
  • Demonstrated experience in both procurement and grants job functions.
  • Track record of developing and executing highly effective processes, tools, metrics, and practices
  • Existing relationships with or understanding of federal agencies, commercial, industrial, and major utilities.
  • Strategic mindset balanced with tactical execution.
  • Knowledge in the field of energy, climate, sustainability, energy efficiency is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Relationship management
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or related field, MBA or engineering/sustainability degree or focus a plus.
