JOB SUMMARY
A consulting and contracting firm specializing in energy efficiency and infrastructure enhancements is seeking a Business Development Executive (BDE). This role is responsible for independently selling the company’s energy solutions within the data center industry while supporting overall business development initiatives. The position offers a base salary with eligibility for commission or bonus.
Travel expectations: Estimated at up to 70%, with a focus on projects across the U.S. and Canada. Travel is based on business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Leadership & Culture:
Demonstrate a proactive, sales-driven approach while maintaining accountability and high performance.
Collaborate with leadership and peers to refine sales strategies and techniques.
Strategy & Planning:
Develop and execute account plans aligned with business objectives.
Identify market opportunities and adapt strategies based on industry trends and client needs.
Personal Sales Performance:
Maintain and manage a sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and high conversion rates.
Deliver consultative sales presentations focused on measurable client ROI.
Process & Performance Management:
Utilize CRM tools and sales technology to enhance decision-making and efficiency.
Provide insights on process improvements to optimize sales operations.
Culture & Organizational Alignment:
Uphold and promote company values and mission.
Foster a client-first approach in all interactions.
Collaborate across departments to support business growth.
Set and achieve both personal and team goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or at least seven years of experience in data center sales (or ten years of relevant industry experience in place of a degree).
Experience selling HVAC, controls, electrical, or power solutions.
Established relationships with data center operators.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Leadership skills to drive business development initiatives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
CRM management expertise.
Preferred:
Experience in data center management or operations.
Background in account management with multiple product/service sales.
Industry connections in telecommunications.
Familiarity with Smartsheets.
Active participation in industry trade associations.
