National Business Development - Higher-Education

As a Business Development Manager - Higher-Ed within our growing team, you will have the opportunity to lead and cultivate new business opportunities with government, education, and private sector clients as we leverage our customer-centric and innovative brand. Success in this position requires a dynamic individual capable of establishing new organizational partnership sand advancing innovative projects from conception through implementation.
Potential responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Develop, own, and execute a sales growth plan through multiple markets across the region.
Use a Solution Sales process methodology to qualify & disqualify complex sales opportunities for consistent, robust results.
Spearhead company's next stage of business development activities, identifying and driving sector-specific sales strategies that increase company revenue, branding, and impact.
Serve as direct client interface on all projects, leading customer meetings/presentations and negotiating contracts on behalf of the organization.
Develop relationships with and identify the technical needs of potential partners across all organizational levels, ranging from government executives to building engineering staff.
Coordinate internal engineering resources to evaluate sales recommendations, managing site audits, cost-savings calculations, and return-on-investment analyses.

Represent company and show emerging energy sector trends at industry conferences, tradeshows, and other networking events.
Articulate the benefits of infrastructure modernization and/or energy related approaches to drive critical savings and optimization across higher-education customers
Use of a disciplined sales and market development process that relies heavily on financial drivers.
Working knowledge of the emerging energy market and current public sector market drivers (i.e. energy resilience, physical security, alternative financing, and cyber security)

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred)
Minimum 5 years of complex sales and /or business development experience in higher-education
A proven ability to build an internal and external partnership ecosystem for customer acquisition to develop a robust and sustainable opportunity funnel. 
Consultative sales experience across a multi-state territory.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Return-on-Investment based financial transactions related to energy conservation, sustainability, or facility optimization programs.
