Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Director of Supply Chain to oversee and manage the entire supply chain process for our HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) and kitchen equipment service company. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of parts, equipment, and materials, while also managing inventory, logistics, and vendor relationships to support our service operations and growth.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supply chain management, specifically within the HVAC/R, kitchen equipment, or similar industries, and will be capable of driving improvements in efficiency, cost reduction, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supply Chain Strategy and Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the supply chain strategy to ensure the efficient procurement, storage, and distribution of HVAC/R parts and kitchen equipment components.
    • Lead a team of supply chain professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to ensure departmental goals are met.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align supply chain strategies with company objectives and service goals.
 
  • Procurement and Vendor Management:
    • Manage and negotiate relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure high-quality products at competitive prices.
    • Oversee the procurement process, ensuring materials and parts are ordered in a timely manner and meet the company's operational needs.
    • Continuously assess and identify new suppliers, technologies, and processes to improve procurement and cost efficiency.
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock of critical parts and equipment while minimizing overstocking and reducing excess inventory.
    • Implement inventory control practices to ensure accurate stock levels, reduce waste, and optimize warehouse space.
    • Oversee warehousing and logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of parts and equipment to field technicians and customers.
  • Logistics and Distribution:
    • Ensure efficient logistics and distribution systems for the timely delivery of materials to service teams, repair sites, and customers.
    • Manage and improve transportation processes to reduce lead times and transportation costs.
    • Optimize last-mile delivery strategies to improve service efficiency and reduce delays.
  • Process Improvement and Analytics:
    • Analyze supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement, utilizing data analytics to drive decision-making.
    • Implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline operations and increase the efficiency of supply chain processes.
    • Continuously review and refine procurement, inventory, and logistics processes to reduce costs, improve quality, and meet customer service expectations.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with the operations, finance, and sales teams to forecast material and parts requirements for upcoming projects and ongoing service contracts.
    • Maintain clear communication with internal teams regarding supply chain challenges, opportunities, and timelines.
    • Ensure that supply chain activities align with customer service standards, helping to enhance overall customer satisfaction.




Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.  10+ years of related leadership experience in Supply Chain Management in lieu of degree is acceptable.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in Supply Chain Management, with a proven track record in the HVAC/R, kitchen equipment, or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage vendor relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific standards, regulations, and best practices related to HVAC/R and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 30%.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
  • Experience with implementing lean or Six Sigma methodologies in supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in supply chain operations, particularly related to the HVAC/R and kitchen equipment industries.

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional travel to warehouses, suppliers, and service locations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
