Job Summary

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure competitive and profitable bids. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
• Perform material take-offs and labor estimates using industry-standard software.
• Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop competitive proposals.
• Identify potential risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Stay current on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates.
• Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates and bid documents.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, preferably in HVAC and plumbing.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction processes, and materials.
• Proficiency in estimating software 
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
