Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and communicative professional with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively. This position is responsible for guiding owner selections, presenting results in a clear format for clients and the design team, and developing cost estimates and construction schedules ranging from rough-order-of-magnitude to detailed working estimates.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Strengthen relationships with owners, contractors, suppliers, and potential customers in coordination with the Business Development Leaders
- Identify opportunities within estimates to reduce costs and collaborate with project management and production teams.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and internal teams to ensure accurate project development.
- Prepare reports forecasting production scenarios and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Assist Project Managers with project handoffs, dispute resolution, and past-due accounts.
- Attend pre-bid meetings.
- Manage and organize bid invitations and requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Review Notice to Proceed (NTP) letters and contracts for scope and price accuracy.
- Analyze project specifications and drawings, compiling project notes, RFIs, and scope details.
- Measure buildings, verify dimensions, and perform test cuts as necessary.
- Complete takeoffs and estimates using Edge Estimating Software.
- Handle estimating functions, including bids, pricing, and change orders.
- Review and analyze existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Develop detailed proposals and cost estimates based on data analysis and research.
- Participate in job completion financial analysis, track performance metrics, and assess bid results.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and estimating within commercial roofing.
- Knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including single-ply, asphalt, cold-applied, hot-applied, and metal projects (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create financial forecasts.
- Experience with Edge Estimating Software (preferred).
- Ability to analyze specifications and drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
