Design and implement the firm’s climate risk framework across all asset classes.
Embed risk assessments into investment and underwriting processes, including acquisition diligence, valuation, and exit planning.
Partner with ESG and sustainability leadership to integrate physical and transition risk analysis into corporate sustainability strategy.
Lead climate risk assessments, including scenario analysis, hazard mapping, and resilience scoring using external data sources and internal modeling tools.
Collaborate with consultants, data providers, and engineering partners to quantify exposure and identify adaptation priorities.
Support integration of climate-related risk metrics into portfolio reporting and investor communications.
Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to executive leadership, investors, and the board.
Translate technical climate insights into actionable business strategies.
Contribute to ESG disclosures (e.g., TCFD, GRESB, CDP) and regulatory filings.
Partner with teams across investments, asset management, development, and capital markets to ensure climate resilience informs major decisions.
Support due diligence on potential acquisitions, evaluating climate exposure, regulatory impacts, and risk mitigation pathways.
Collaborate with sustainability, engineering, and operations professionals to identify portfolio-wide decarbonization and resilience opportunities.
Serve as the internal subject matter expert for climate science, adaptation, and policy trends.
Manage and mentor analysts supporting ESG and resilience initiatives.
Stay current with evolving frameworks (e.g., SEC climate disclosure, CSRD, ISSB) and integrate best practices into firm policies.
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, finance, or related field.
8+ years of professional experience in climate risk, ESG consulting, or real estate investment.
Deep understanding of physical and transition climate risks, including exposure to hazard data, modeling, and scenario planning.
Proven experience integrating climate or ESG frameworks into investment or asset management processes.
Familiarity with TCFD, GRESB, or other sustainability disclosure frameworks.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to connect climate data with business outcomes.
Excellent communication skills — able to engage both technical experts and senior financial decision-makers.
Preferred:
Experience within real estate private equity, REIT, or institutional investment management environments.
Exposure to resilience engineering, energy efficiency, or decarbonization strategy.
Experience working with climate data providers or risk platforms.
Professional certifications such as LEED AP, CFA ESG, or similar credentials.
Strategic thinker with a balance of technical rigor and business fluency.
Confident communicator who can influence executive and investor audiences.
