Account Manager

Summary

The Account Manager is responsible for overseeing customer relationships, managing ongoing building automation service portfolios, and identifying opportunities to expand system upgrades, retrofits, and energy-efficiency solutions. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery while partnering with internal engineering, project management, and field teams to support both existing contracts and new business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and strengthen long-term relationships with building automation clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and proactive communication.

  • Serve as the primary client liaison for service requests, ongoing maintenance needs, system performance issues, and project updates.

  • Identify and develop opportunities for BAS upgrades, retrofits, optimization projects, and additional service offerings.

  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and budget estimates for service contracts, modifications, and upgrades.

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and BAS technicians to ensure accurate execution of service commitments and project deliverables.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of client systems, facility needs, and operational priorities.

  • Track service agreements, warranties, and scheduled maintenance activities to ensure timely fulfillment.

  • Monitor financial performance of assigned accounts, including revenue forecasts, margins, and contract renewals.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, internal processes, and project documentation requirements.

  • Represent the company in a professional manner and support the delivery of high-quality, technically sound solutions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute.

  • 3+ years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, mechanical systems, or technical account management.

  • Strong knowledge of BAS platforms (e.g., Tridium/Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Distech, Schneider, etc.).

  • Ability to understand control sequences, system architecture, and mechanical equipment operations.

  • Proven experience managing customer relationships and delivering technical service solutions.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to develop proposals, estimate work, and manage financial aspects of accounts.

  • Comfortable working across active facility environments and coordinating with technical field teams.

  • Willingness to travel locally to client sites as needed.
