The HVAC Service Manager oversees the daily operations of the commercial HVAC service department, leading technicians, supervisors, and dispatch to ensure high-quality service, customer satisfaction, and departmental profitability. This role serves as a senior representative, working directly with customers, vendors, and internal teams to meet service and business objectives.
Lead and manage all aspects of the HVAC Service Department, including technicians, supervisors, and dispatch
Drive departmental P&L performance, service growth, and operational efficiency
Schedule and support technicians to meet service demands and customer expectations
Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate service personnel
Ensure work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to company policies
Oversee work order processing, billing accuracy, and cash flow
Coordinate parts, materials, and fleet usage to support service operations
Maintain strong customer and vendor relationships, including warranty support
Generate sales leads and promote maintenance/service agreements
Collaborate with other departments to meet company goals
5+ years of HVAC service or management experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
Proven leadership, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with common office and service management software
Valid driver’s license and willingness to work flexible hours as needed
