Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Department Leader to oversee and grow the firm’s electrical engineering practice in the Northeast region. This individual will play a strategic role in department leadership, project delivery, client relationships, and team development. You’ll be joining a dynamic leadership team with a shared goal of technical excellence, quality, and long-term client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the electrical engineering department, including staffing, resource planning, and mentoring junior and senior team members
Oversee the design and coordination of electrical systems across a variety of project types including healthcare, higher education, life sciences, and commercial buildings
Act as a technical expert and quality control lead on complex projects
Collaborate closely with mechanical, plumbing, and energy teams to deliver integrated MEP solutions
Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular engagement and exceptional service delivery
Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, client meetings, and strategic pursuits
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented culture within the team
Monitor department KPIs and drive continuous improvement in project execution, documentation, and innovation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required); PE license strongly preferred
10+ years of experience in building systems design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
Proven experience leading teams and delivering large, complex MEP projects
Strong understanding of applicable codes and industry standards (NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic mindset with the ability to manage people, process, and projects simultaneously
Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical modeling tools
