Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Department Leader to oversee and grow the firm’s electrical engineering practice in the Northeast region. This individual will play a strategic role in department leadership, project delivery, client relationships, and team development. You’ll be joining a dynamic leadership team with a shared goal of technical excellence, quality, and long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the electrical engineering department, including staffing, resource planning, and mentoring junior and senior team members

  • Oversee the design and coordination of electrical systems across a variety of project types including healthcare, higher education, life sciences, and commercial buildings

  • Act as a technical expert and quality control lead on complex projects

  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, plumbing, and energy teams to deliver integrated MEP solutions

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular engagement and exceptional service delivery

  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, client meetings, and strategic pursuits

  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented culture within the team

  • Monitor department KPIs and drive continuous improvement in project execution, documentation, and innovation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required); PE license strongly preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in building systems design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role

  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering large, complex MEP projects

  • Strong understanding of applicable codes and industry standards (NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to manage people, process, and projects simultaneously

  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical modeling tools
