Senior Mechanical Engineer – Energy Solutions Baltimore, MD The core business of our client’s Energy Solutions division is the delivery of Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs). Simply put, our ESPCs are a viable way to upgrade and renovate facilities in a budget-neutral or even budget-positive way. The process diverts money already being spent on utilities and directs it into facility upgrades, covering scope development, design, bidding, construction management, commissioning, measurement and verification, and even ongoing energy management services. We have experience in designing the nation’s most energy efficient buildings, including many zero energy buildings. Job Description: Our client is looking for an experienced engineer to help in Energy Solutions office. The Energy Solutions division is the fastest growing division of our large and growing company. The successful candidate is typically a self-motivated individual that thrives on helping clients and has the technical background to be involved and lead all phases of our work. Although this position is for the performance contracting division of our company, we have found that engineers with strong backgrounds in HVAC design and commissioning can easily make the transition to become an energy engineer within our Energy Solutions group. The Senior Engineer leads all aspects of performance contracts for our clients, from conception to completion, and serves as the point of contact for the client through all phases. Below are some of the duties that this position includes:
Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients.
Articulate how and why our client is unique in our approach to performance contracting.
Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, energy calculations, etc.
Direct the engineering design team producing drawings and specifications.
Direct the bidding process.
Develop the final contract with the client.
Work with construction manager to ensure smooth construction period for the client.
Direct the commissioning process.
Be involved during warranty phase as required.
Work with our M&V professional to develop the first year M&V report.
Required Experience:
Minimum 7 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm.
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
