Job Summary: Our client is seeking a skilled Commercial Estimator to join their team in the fencing industry. As a Commercial Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project requirements, analyzing costs, and providing comprehensive estimates for commercial fencing projects. The client is highly open to outside industry professionals, individuals at construction or service based companies that have estimated commercial and industrial projects is the only requirement.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with sales representatives and project managers to understand project specifications and objectives.
Conduct thorough on-site inspections and assessments to determine project requirements, including measurement of dimensions, identifying potential obstacles, and evaluating site conditions.
Analyze architectural drawings, blueprints, and other relevant documentation to extract necessary information for estimating purposes.
Research and source material costs, equipment rentals, and subcontractor pricing to accurately estimate project expenses.
Utilize estimating software and tools to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, permits, and any other project-related expenses.
Prepare comprehensive and professional proposal packages, including detailed breakdowns of costs, timelines, and project scopes.
Consult with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project details, address concerns, and provide accurate and timely responses to inquiries.
Collaborate with the procurement team to obtain competitive bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
Continuously monitor industry trends, market conditions, and material prices to ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of estimates.
Maintain a database of historical project data, cost estimates, and pricing information to enhance future estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs and identify potential cost-saving measures.
Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project kick-off meetings as required.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Commercial Estimator in the fencing industry or a related field.
Strong knowledge of commercial fencing materials, construction methods, and industry standards.
Proficient in interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Familiarity with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst, etc.).
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to accurately quantify and estimate labor, materials, and equipment costs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Solid organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines.
Familiarity with local building codes, permits, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required
