Position Overview:

As a Sales Executive specializing in energy efficiency projects, you will play a pivotal role in driving our business growth within the Mid-Atlantic region. You will be responsible for selling comprehensive energy efficiency solutions to public sector clients, including higher education institutions, healthcare providers, and government agencies. Your goal will be to identify opportunities, build strong relationships, and close deals that contribute to both our clients' sustainability goals and our company's success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the public sector, focusing on higher education, healthcare, and government institutions.
    • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
    • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, client needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Client Engagement:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in target organizations.
    • Conduct needs assessments and site evaluations to tailor energy efficiency solutions to client requirements.
    • Present and demonstrate the benefits of our energy efficiency projects, addressing client concerns and objections effectively.
  • Proposal Management:

    • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, including technical and financial aspects of energy efficiency projects.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely proposal submissions.
    • Negotiate contract terms and close deals to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
  • Project Management:

    • Coordinate with project management teams to ensure smooth transition from sales to project implementation.
    • Monitor project progress and address any client concerns or issues that may arise during the implementation phase.
  • Reporting and Analysis:

    • Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity.
    • Provide regular updates to management on sales pipeline, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Networking and Representation:

    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
    • Build and maintain a network of industry contacts to facilitate business development and partnership opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications related to energy efficiency or sustainability are a plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the energy efficiency or sustainability sector. Experience selling to public sector clients, including higher education and healthcare institutions, is highly desirable.

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of energy efficiency technologies and solutions.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within the Mid-Atlantic region as required.
